Welcome to Tūhono Exchange. By booking a tour, cultural experience, or programme with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before making your booking.

1. General Information

Tūhono Exchange operates guided tours, cultural experiences, and educational programmes across Aotearoa New Zealand. All experiences are hosted by qualified guides and follow tikanga Māori (Māori protocols) and responsible tourism practices.

2. Bookings and Payments

  • Full payment or a deposit (as specified at booking) is required to confirm your reservation.
  • Payment can be made online via our secure booking system or by bank transfer.
  • Prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST unless otherwise stated.
  • Group bookings must be made at least 14 days in advance.

3. Cancellations and Refunds

We understand that plans can change.

  • Cancellations made more than 7 days before the tour: Full refund minus a 10% admin fee.
  • Cancellations within 7 days of the tour: 50% refund.
  • Cancellations within 48 hours or no-shows: No refund.
  • In the rare event that Tūhono Exchange cancels a tour (e.g. due to weather, safety, or unforeseen circumstances), a full refund or reschedule will be offered.

4. Changes to Itinerary

Our tours are designed to flow naturally and may vary slightly depending on weather, cultural availability, or group needs. We reserve the right to adjust itineraries while maintaining the overall quality and intent of the experience.

5. Health and Safety

  • Participants must follow all health and safety instructions given by our guides.
  • Please advise us of any medical conditions, allergies, or mobility issues when booking.
  • Tūhono Exchange reserves the right to refuse participation if a person’s behaviour or condition poses a risk to themselves or others.
  • We operate under New Zealand’s Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and all relevant tourism safety standards.

6. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all guests hold valid travel insurance to cover cancellations, medical expenses, and personal belongings.

7. Cultural Respect

Tūhono Exchange operates in partnership with Māori communities and marae. Visitors are expected to show respect for local customs, traditions, and sacred spaces. Our guides will provide cultural guidance throughout the experience.

8. Liability

While every care is taken to ensure your safety and enjoyment, participation is at your own risk. Tūhono Exchange is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or expense arising from your participation, except where required by New Zealand law.

9. Privacy

Your personal information is collected solely for booking and communication purposes. We respect your privacy and do not share your details with third parties unless required by law.
