Join us for an incredible 4-week cultural exchange in Aotearoa (New Zealand) designed specifically for Indigenous peoples. This program offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich traditions, language, and lifestyle of the Māori people, deepening the bond between Indigenous cultures from all corners of the world.

Over the course of four weeks, you'll travel to some of the most culturally rich places in New Zealand’s North Island. You will explore sacred sites, discover the unique spritual culture of Māori and learn all about the history of Aotearoa. From the vibrant city of Auckland to the serene landscapes of Northland & Rotorua, this journey will leave you with unforgettable experiences and a deeper understanding of the shared history and values of Indigenous peoples.

Week 1: Auckland Arrival 

  • Traditional Māori welcome with Ponamu blessing.
  • 3 night immersive stay at an authentic woking marea (Papakura Marae) learning about Māori culture and traditions
  • Hangi and workshops
  • Sharing cultures experiences

Week 2: Northland Trip with Marae stay

  • Marae stay, participate in local Māori life.
  • Opportunity to share your own culture with local Māori 
  • Lunch at Kā Uri cafe, a Māori owned cafe utilizing local fare
  • Footprints of Kupe visit. A unique cultural encounter, journeying into Te Ao Māori, the Māori world.
  • Tangihanga performance, a powerful performance celebrating cultural identity.
  • Tane Mahuta visit & Kai Iwi Lakes

Week 3: Rotorua Trip

  • Te Puia visit, with dinner and cultural performance 
  • Stay at Kohutapu Lodge, a working Māori hostel
  • Explore Rotorua, Māori sites, and natural hot springs

Week 4: Final Week & Reflection in Waiuku

  • Participate in a week of reflection and cultural immersion
  • Māori homestay
  • Visit historical sites, including Kariotahi beach for a blessing ceremony

7500 per participant

After your 4 week joureny ends you are then able to stay in New Zealand, with contiuned support from programme leaders throughout your travels, or return home.
